Over 250 alumni joined the Homecoming Dinner organised by the Department of Economics at the Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun Sports and Cultural Centre in celebration of HKBU’s 60th Anniversary on 19 November.
In the opening remarks, Dr. Cheng Yuk-shing, Head of Department of Economics, thanked the alumni for their continued support to the alma mater and mentoring of students over the years. Dr. Ignatius So, President of the Economics Alumni Association, highlighted the recent activities organised by the Association and expressed his enthusiasm to strengthen the alumni network in the future.
Music videos with photos of alumni from different generations were showcased at the dinner. Alumni Tim Chan, Francis Shiu, Dickson Tam, Zoe Lau and John Lo were invited to share their unforgettable memories at HKBU. Dr. Li Sung-ko, who was the Chairman of the Student Union Economics Society from 1982-1983 and is now Associate Professor of the Department, concluded the dinner by sharing various episodes in his old days at HKBU.
The Dinner ended in a warm atmosphere and many alumni looked forward to the next reunion activity.
