Celebration of Department of Mathematics 45th Anniversary: 2nd Alumni Talk - Career Path for Mathematics Teachers

To celebrate its 45th anniversary, the Department of Mathematics has organised a series of alumni talks and activities for students and alumni in collaboration with HKBU Alumni Association of Department of Mathematics (the Association) and the Alumni Affairs Office.

The alumni talk themed “Career Path for Mathematics Teachers” was held on 28 November and attended by over 30 students, staff members and alumni. Alumni Raymond Wong Kwong-wai and Wong Chi-yeung, the respective Principals of Lam Tai Fai College and PLK Mrs. Chan Nam Chong Memorial Primary School, shared valuable insights and experience on their career path. They reaffirmed that education is a mission rather than a career, which can affect students’ future. The alumni talk was moderated by alumnus Dr. Daricks Chan Wai-hong, Acting Head and Associate Professor of Department of Mathematics and Information Technology of The Hong Kong Institute of Education, and President of the Association.
