BU Treasure Snap Check Photo Contest
Have you ever explored the beauty of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU)?

Here comes the chance to explore the most sought-after photo taking spots at HKBU! Snap a photo on campus, dig out photos taken in the past at HKBU or generate one from a computer and get a chance to win a prize by sharing your photo(s) with us and getting the most “likes” on Facebook!

We are pleased to have invited award-winning alumnus Kelvin Yuen, winner of the International Landscape Photographer of the Year 2020, to be the honorary advisor for the Contest to shortlist photos for posting on Facebook.

Winners will be invited to attend the Alumni Investiture Ceremony held on campus on 9 October and receive the prize.

What to submit?

Photo(s) snapped on campus, taken in the past at HKBU, or generated from computer are all welcome.
(Unlimited entries per person to showcase the beauty of campus.)
    Capture one of the following recommended photo taking spots, OR explore other locations on campus that are of your choice.

How to submit?

Photo(s) should be emailed to homecoming@hkbu.edu.hk on/before 3 September 2021.
    Please provide the following information for the photo(s) submitted.
1. Name in English and Chinese
2. Graduation Field/ Year of Graduation (alumni)
3. Department/office (students and staff)
4. Contact (mobile number)
5. Email address
    Photos in JPEG are accepted. File size should be at least 1MB.

How to win a prize?

Photos submitted will be shortlisted by alumnus Kelvin Yuen, winner of the International Landscape Photographer of the Year 2020 and honorary advisor for the Photo Contest. Shortlisted photos will be posted on the HKBU Alumni Facebook page for public voting by giving a “like” to the photo, during the voting period of 20 September to 28 September 5pm.
    The top 10 photos with the highest number of likes gained during the voting period will be the winners. Each winner will receive a HK$100 voucher.
    Winners will be invited to attend the Alumni Investiture Ceremony on HKBU campus on 9 October to receive the prize, and shall be contacted by the Alumni Affairs Office in early October for the detailed arrangement.


1. The University reserves its rights to select and use your submissions (the Photos) for the Photo Contest, and to do so without any obligation or liability to pay any money or give any other consideration including loyalty to any party for determining the outcome of the Photo Contest. The University also intends to use them in its publications which can be in physical and/or electronic form, and the channels include, but not limited to reports, magazines, newsletters, publicity materials, exhibitions and social media such as Facebook, and outside media reports.
  2.   Certain personal information of yourself and the individuals included in the Photos (including names, graduation year, contact details such as email and/or telephone number, and photographs submitted by you) will be collected, used and retained by the University as further detailed in the Personal Information Collection Statement (PICS), and in accordance with the University’s Privacy Policy Statement. The PICS will apply to the Photo Contest and all the University’s future collection of personal data from you. You are kindly reminded to read the PICS and keep it for future reference.
  3.   In consideration of the University’s acceptance of your submission of the Photos to the Photo Contest, you agree that the submission constitutes your consent (and the relevant photographed individuals’ consent to which you shall secure before submission) to the above use and for the purposes as set out in the PICS, and also your waiver of any exclusive right to use the Photos and agreement not to assert exclusive ownership, copyright or other proprietary rights over the same.
  4.   HKBU Alumni Affairs Office reserves its right of final decision in case of any disputes.
