President of Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Association of Beijing Attends Hong Kong and Macao Youth Beijing Club Kick-off Ceremony cum Hong Kong Higher Education Institutions Alliance Event

Alumna Li Yuan (Applied Biology), President of Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Association of Beijing (HKBUBJAA), attended Hong Kong and Macao Youth Beijing Club Kick-off Ceremony cum Hong Kong Higher Education Institutions Alliance event on 10 July. Initiated by Beijing Youth Federation, Hong Kong and Macao Youth Beijing Club aims at, through organising a series of interest activities, assisting young people from Hong Kong and Macau to adapt to living in Beijing, whether because of study, work or settling down there.

In addition to the ceremony, representatives from the alumni chapters of six Hong Kong higher education institutions, including President of HKBUBJAA alumna Li Yuan and Presidents of Beijing Alumni Association of The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and City University of Hong Kong, gathered at the event and made use of the occasion to exchange views on promoting inter-communication among the alumni chapters and mutual development among young people of Hong Kong and China.

Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Association of Macau Organises Dinner Gathering

After a long break of activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Association of Macau (Macau AA) organised a dinner gathering on 27 June in Macau. The dinner was attended by Dr Daniel Tse, President Emeritus; Mrs Kitty Tse; alumnus Dr Sammy Liu (English Language & Literature), Supervisor General of Macau AA and Chancellor of Macau University of Science and Technology; alumna May Liu (English Language & Literature); alumnus Paul Pang (Mathematics), President of Macau AA; and other members of Macau AA. All participants enjoyed the precious moment of catching up with each other during dinner.

Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Association of Ontario Organises a Webinar on The Importance of Having a Will

Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Association of Ontario (HBKUAA of Ontario) organised a webinar on The Importance of Having a Will on 20 July, which was well attended by 30 alumni. The webinar received positive comments from the participants and they all look forward to joining activities of the Association in the near future. The next HBKUAA of Ontario webinar is scheduled for the coming October or November, and the topic is How to Apply for Admission to Long Term Care Home. This webinar aims to let members know more about the elderly care service available in Ontario.

Hong Kong Baptist University School of Business Alumni Association Organises Chinese Tea Appreciation Gathering

On 21 June, Hong Kong Baptist University School of Business Alumni Association (SBAA) organised a Chinese Tea Appreciation gathering which was attended by Professor Roland Chin, President Emeritus, and his spouse Mrs Zina Chin; Ms Rosanna Choi, Treasurer of the Council and Court; alumnus Herman Lau (Sociology) and his spouse Mrs Pinky Lau; alumna Ivy Ku (Business Administration), Chairman of SBAA; alumnus Wong Nga-chung (Business Management); alumna Eva Wu (Business English Communication), Executive Committee member of SBAA, and alumnus Marcus Yuen (Applied Accounting & Finance), President of SBAA.

At the gathering, alumni Ivy Ku and Eva Wu shared with the attending guests the six major types of Chinese tea and their efficacy. All had an opportunity to taste, and at the same time appreciate the captivating aroma of, the various types of tea served at the gathering. Participants all thoroughly enjoyed the evening sampling great tea and having nice exchanges.

President and Vice-President of Hong Kong Baptist University Accountancy Alumni Association Return to Their Alma Mater

President of Hong Kong Baptist University Accountancy Alumni Association alumnus Ken Chan and Vice-President alumnus Anthony Pang returned to their alma mater on 1 June to meet with the Head of Department of Accountancy and Law Dr Byron Song and Director of Alumni Affairs Dr Melanie Lee for exchanging views on the upcoming development of the Association.
