Alumnus Francis Mak Encourages Students to Stay Strong and Not to Give Up

Alumnus Francis Mak (Chinese Language and Literature), Founder and Director of Never Give Up Association, collaborated with HKBU for six consecutive years to organise a summer programme for Form Six and Primary Six students. About 30 training classes and activities were held from May to August to help participants develop positive attitude and prepare them to face challenges in lives.

Opening ceremonies of the Summer Programme were held on 1 and 22 June at HKBU campus. The events were graced by the presence of Secretary for Development Mr. Wong Wai-lun Michael, Permanent Secretary for Development (Planning and Lands) Ms. Bernadette Linn and HKBU Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary Dr. Andy Lee.

After 13 weeks of fun-filled activities, the Summer Programme ended with a graduation ceremony for secondary and primary students held on 27 July. President of Wofoo Social Enterprises Dr. Joseph Lee, Archbishop and Primate of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui The Most Reverend Dr. Paul Kwong and HKBU Associate Vice-President (Engagement) Mr. C.K. Yeung attended the events to share the happiness with the students.

Book Written by Alumnus Dr. Ronald C. Po Awarded Specialist Publication Accolade

Alumnus Dr. Ronald C. Po (History), Assistant Professor, Department of International History at The London School of Economics and Political Science, was awarded the Specialist Publication Accolade by the International Convention of Asia Scholars, in honor of his 2018 monograph, The Blue Frontier: Maritime Vision and Power in the Qing Empire, published by Cambridge University Press. Congratulations to alumnus Dr. Po.

Alumna Lee Wai-ling Releases New Book

Alumna Lee Wai-ling (Chinese Language and Literature) released her new book to share her proven beauty regimens for keeping the internal organs, skin, eyes and joints healthy.
 
 
 
Alumnus Tyrone Siu Meets with Alumni Leaders in Mainland China

Alumnus Tyrone Siu (History) paid visits to Beijing and Shanghai on 28 June and 30 June respectively to meet with leaders of alumni associations, including President alumna Li Yuan (Applied Biology) of HKBU Beijing Alumni Association, and President alumnus Yee Lam (Communication) and Vice-President alumnus Li Zhi (UIC-Accounting; Green Technology) of HKBU Alumni Association of Shanghai. They exchanged views in uniting the alumni residing in different areas of Mainland China.
