Recent Activities of HKBU Century Club

HKBU Century Club Sponsors the Science Festival 2018 Sponsored by HKBU Century Club, the Science Festival 2018 was organised by the Faculty of Science on 5 July. The Festival aimed to raise students’ awareness of scientific innovation in everyday life. With the theme of “The Fortune from Scientific Innovation”, the Science Festival was comprised of various activities, including 4 thematic seminars, a chemistry magic show, laboratory tours, games, exhibitions, workshops as well as the “Innovative Solution for Future” competition. President of HKBU Century Club, alumnus Kent Tsui was invited to attend the Award Presentation Ceremony of the “Innovative Solution for Future Competition” as the guest of honour to present prizes to the award winners. During the competition, the teams of secondary three or above students from various schools applied their knowledge in science to solve problems related to “Green Technology & Smart Living” in their daily lives and presented their solutions. A wide range of topics were covered in their presentations, such as biodegradation, biotechnology, sustainable roof farming, smart power generation and energy conservation. Since 1976, HKBU Century Club has established the Century Club Sponsorship Scheme to provide annual financial support to academic or student development projects. HKBU Century Club Organises an Education Trip to Zhuhai, Zhongshan and Macau HKBU Century Club organised a two-day education trip to Zhuhai, Zhongshan and Macau from 22 to 23 June, leading a delegation of 14 Club members and alumni to visit the Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC) in Zhuhai, the kindergarten, primary school and secondary school divisions of China-Hong Kong English School in Zhongshan as well as the University of Macau. During the trip, the delegation also had a gathering with President Emeritus Dr. Daniel Tse and Mrs. Kitty Tse, former President Prof. Ng Ching-fai and Macau alumni. All participants enjoyed the trip to the fullest.    The delegation visits the UIC and meets with former President Prof. Ng Ching-fai (seventh from right).     President Emeritus Dr. Daniel Tse (middle) leads the delegation to tour around the University of Macau.     The delegation is delighted to learn about the development of the China-Hong Kong English School.     Alumnus Kent Tsui (front row, second from left), President of the Club, and the delegation express their gratitude for alumnus Dr. Jonathan Choi (front row, third from left), Patron of the Club, for his generous hospitality.     The delegation has a dinner gathering with President Emeritus Dr. Daniel Tse (front row, middle), Mrs. Kitty Tse (front row, second from left) and Macau alumni.
