HKBU Century Club Co-organises “Crested Ibises”
Co-organised by HKBU Century Club, a dance drama entitled “Crested Ibises” was staged at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts on 28 and 29 July. With first-class performers and production crew from China, “Crested Ibises” combined traditional Chinese dance with classical ballet and modern dance invoking care for nature and was well supported by different parties from the Mainland and Hong Kong. The fund raised by this performance will be used to support the HKBU Century Club’s student ambassador scheme, sponsoring HKBU students to participate in overseas exchange and internship programmes and experience the “Belt and Road – A Tour of Artistic Diplomacy”. Part of the funds will be donated to the School of Chinese Medicine of HKBU.
To enhance understanding of the meaning of “Crested Ibises”, Visiting Professor of HKBU School of Communication Prof. Agnes Chan was invited to be the Honorary Ambassador of “Crested Ibises”. A sharing session was held on HKBU campus on 9 July, in which Prof. Chan, Honorary Chairman of the Organising Committee alumnus Dr. Justin Chiu, Chairman of the Organising Committee and member of Century Club alumnus Ip Ka-po, member of Century Club alumna Katie Chan shared the stories behind “Crested Ibises”. |
