The Alumni Association of Department of Chinese Language and Literature Holds Annual General Meeting 2021

The Alumni Association of Department of Chinese Language and Literature held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 13 March. The following members of the Executive Committee were elected for the term 2021 - 2023:

President: Ms. Carmen Tam
External Vice-President: Mr. Stephen Ip
Internal Vice-President: Mr. Edward Lo
Treasurer: Ms. Lau Man-ling
Secretary: Ms. Cheung Sze-man
Executive Committee Members: Mr. Gee Get-kui
Mr. Cheuk Hon-ching
Ms. Emily Owen
Mr. Bosco Cheng

The AGM was graced by the presence of Head of Department of Chinese Language and Literature Prof. Lo Ming-tung, who expressed his gratitude to the Association for its continuous contribution to the alma mater. At the AGM, alumna Carmen Tam was elected the new President of the Association. Speaking as new President, Carmen expressed the Association’s gratefulness to Prof. Lo for his staunch support. She also thanked the past Presidents alumni Sidney Lui and Stephen Ip, for their tireless efforts in laying down a solid foundation for the Association. Looking ahead, she pledged to work closely with members of the Executive Committee in organising various events for members, to step up efforts to encourage more members to join the activities of the Association, and to strengthen the bonding between alumni and their alma mater.

HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association Zhuhai Chapter Celebrates the Award of the Title of “National March 8th Red-banner Holder” to Honorary President Wu Suping

Alumna Wu Suping, Honorary President of HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association Zhuhai Chapter, was awarded by All-China Women’s Federation the title of "National March 8th Red-banner Holder" in 2020, in recognition of her outstanding achievements and contributions to community services.

In celebration of President Wu’s award, HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association Zhuhai Chapter organised a dinner on 17 March. At the dinner, President Wu took the opportunity to share her experiences of, and exchange views on community service with Zhuhai MBA alumni. In addition to President Wu, the dinner was graced by the presence of Professor Steve Liu, Chair Professor and Dean of Division of Business and Management of the Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC) and alumnus Xia Hui, President of the Zhuhai Chapter of the Alumni Association. At the dinner, President Wu specially thanked President Xia and all alumni for organising this dinner gathering, and said that she felt deeply honored being awarded this national title.
