HKBU School of Business Alumni Association Holds Annual General Meeting

The School of Business Alumni Association held its Annual General Meeting on Shaw Campus on 17 March. The following members of the Executive Committee were elected for the term 2018-19:

HKBU Baptist Chemists Gather for a Spring Reunion

The Baptist Chemists organized its annual spring reunion on 10 March at Renfrew Restaurant on Shaw Campus. About 50 alumni, faculty members and students joined the gathering, including Vice-President (Research and Development) Prof. Rick Wong, Associate Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) cum Academic Registrar Prof. Ricky Wong, Chair Professor in Chemistry Prof. Albert Lee, Emeritus Professor in Chemistry Prof. Chan Wing-hong, Associate Head of the Department Dr. Shiu Kwok-keung and Chairman of Baptist Chemists Mr. Ronald Wong.

A highlight of the reunion was a jumbo cake surprise to Founding Chairman of Baptist Chemists alumnus Dr. Eddie Chui (Chemistry/Chinese Medicine), who has recently awarded the Fifth HKBU Distinguished Alumni Award for his professional achievements and outstanding contributions made to the society and the alma mater. Everyone shared the happiness with Dr. Chui in earning this prestigious recognition.

At the dinner, student recipient of Dr. Mok Man Hung Scholarship and students who joined the Korea Study Tour last May also shared their exchange and learning experiences with all the participants.

HKBU Baptist Chemists Reunite at Golf Outing

On 15 December 2017, HKBU Baptist Chemists organised a golf outing at the East Course of the Jockey Club Public Golf Course in Kau Sai Chau, Sai Kung. In its fifth year in a row, this annual event gathered 16 members of Baptist Chemists and their families to have an enjoyable day playing golf. Former Dean of Science and Head of Chemistry Department Dr. John Chan was also on the course having fun with the participating alumni.

A dinner cum prize presentation ceremony was held after rounds of keen competition. Adviser of Baptist Chemists alumna Mok Sin-hang was invited as a special guest to present the trophies to the winners together with Dr. John Chan.

Alumni Association of Y.P. Cai Hall Organises Gathering

On 24 February, Alumni Association of Y.P. Cai Hall organised a lunar New Year gathering at the Y.P. Cai Hall. Around 60 alumni and students currently residing at the Hall reunited for a dinner and visited Resident Master Prof. Ricardo Mak, spending an enjoyable time together.
