HKBU Alumni Association of Australia Holds Chinese New Year Reunion and Gathering in Celebration of the 61st Anniversary of HKBU

HKBU Alumni Association of Australia held a reunion gathering on 14 February to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Enthusiastic alumni including President Sidney Cheng and members Peter Chu, Clara Cheng, Henie Tsang, Keith Chow, Bosco Lau, Richard Lam and Mabel Lam, Leung Ting-chun and Chan Bun-yee attended the event with their friends or families.

Over the years, the Association has shown their love and care towards HKBU. On 7 March, they held another gathering in celebration of the 61st anniversary of the University. Special guests included Deputy Director of Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office (Sydney), HKSAR Bernard Lo, Hong Kong University Alumni Association NSW Chapter Australia Inc. President Linda Tang and members, The Chinese University of Hong Kong Alumni Association Australia President Steve Lam and members, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Australia Association) President Jeffery Tse, Honorary President Hugh Lee and members. Representatives from HKBU Alumni Association of Australia Sidney Cheng and his wife, members Lawrence Chan, Clara Cheng, Henie Tsang, Keith Chow, Bosco Lau and his wife, Richard Lam and Mabel Lam, Leung Ting-chun and Chan Bun-yee greeted the guests on the University’s behalf. Alumnus K.C. Tang also attended the gathering for the first time.

Deputy Director Bernard Lo sent his heartfelt congratulations to HKBU in his speech and also introduced the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office (Sydney) to participants. He praised the alumni associations for their community work and services and encouraged them to unite together. He also looked forward to staying close with them in future.

HKBU Alumni Association of Australia would also like to invite alumni, retired and former teaching and administrative staff of the University, who are now residing in Australia to join the Association as members. HKBU Alumni Association and HKBU MBA Alumni Association co-organise a seminar with Mr. Franklin Lam as keynote speaker

On 6 April, Mr. Franklin Lam, a former member of the Executive Council, was invited to speak at a seminar held on HKBU campus on a topic “Rising City in a Sinking World”. The seminar was jointly organised by Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Association, HKBU MBA Alumni Association and Hong Kong Synergetic Alliance.

At the seminar, Mr. Lam shared his innovative and valuable insights on Hong Kong future with regard to its opportunities and threats. Participants also grasped the opportunities to ask Mr. Lam questions at the question and answer session.

HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association Attends HKBU MBA 2017 Spring Festival Party

HKBU MBA Guangzhou 2015 and 2016 classes jointly organised HKBU MBA 2017 Spring Festival Party at Hilton Guangzhou on 18 February. It was attended by around 50 MBA students and alumni including representatives from HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association alumni Sandy Xiao, Jacky Fan, Joey Zhang, Fang Zhihong and Miss Sarah Xie. Alumni Song Jinxia and Yang Juan from MBA (China) Alumni Association (Shenzhen) were also invited to the event. The Party offered a platform for MBA students and alumni to connect. They all enjoyed themselves and expected to meet again in the next gathering.

Members of Alumni Association of Physical Education Department Post-graduate Studies Visit 2017 Hong Kong Flower Show

Over 20 alumni of Alumni Association of Physical Education Department Post-graduate Studies (AAPEG) and students of Hong Kong Baptist University joined the guided tour of Hong Kong Flower Show at Victoria Park on 12 March. Everyone enjoyed the visit and treasured the opportunity to join this annual event.
