Alumnus Swing Lam Holds Solo Exhibition- Flanuer 11

Alumnus Swing Lam held a solo exhibition at MUJI of Harbour City from 26 January to 15 March 2013. Swing says,“11”, or to be more accurate “Number 11”, is a Cantonese slang phrase that means walking on two feet. Flanuer 11 is about my experience of walking across the city. In spring 2012, I quit my depressing job, and started an even more depressing life as an unemployed. The idea of walking from one side of Hong Kong to other was provoked by this discouraging period when I was looking for a job. One day, after spending several days at home, sending out covering letters without receiving any response, I felt like I was about to explode. I decided to leave my room and my comfort zone. I randomly picked a place at the other side of the city, Yuen Long, to walk on foot. I recorded my walk and I pondered my ego through it. Eventually, I did 10 more walks in 5 cities. The name of this random documentation is called Flanuer 11.”
