Hong Kong Baptist University Century Club (the Club) sponsored the Summer School 2021 – University Experience for Underprivileged Children, which was organised by Leadership Qualities Centre of HKBU Office of Student Affairs. On 31 July, alumnus William Lu (Communication), Treasurer of the Club, delivered remarks at the Closing Ceremony of the programme.

Summer School 2021 aims to inspire and motivate children from underprivileged families by providing them the opportunity of getting a taste of university life, as well as enhancing HKBU students’ empathy and encouraging them to serve the community. This year, 15 HKBU students were recruited to form an organising committee to plan for various activities and outdoor excursions of the programme for 44 participating primary students. During the 6-day Summer School, the programme helped participants build up good character and instil upon them a positive attitude in life. At the Closing Ceremony, HKBU students shared with each other the experience and insight they gained from organising the programme.
