Alumnus Joe Ling Yiu-cho Releases His Book on Weather and Disasters of Hong Kong in the War Period
Alumnus Joe Ling Yiu-cho (Computing Studies- Information Systems), recently released his book in Chinese entitled 《探索香港淪陷時期天氣及災害》.
Alumnus Ling determined to perform a research on weather in Hong Kong during the war period in the 1940s around 10 years ago. Since then, he had gone through a research to conduct an analysis of weather and disasters during this period in Hong Kong.
As there was no official record released about the weather in Hong Kong during the war period, alumnus Ling believes that his book not only fills the gap of historical weather data, but also enables the public to understand more about the meteorological history in Hong Kong.
