Online Inauguration Ceremony for HKBU Class Representatives 2024-2025

Class Representatives make a hand signal in the shape of a “C” to express their pledge of unity and care for the University.

The Alumni Affairs Office (AAO) hosted an online inauguration ceremony for the 2024–2025 Class Representatives on 14 March, welcoming about 70 newly appointed Class Representatives.

In her welcoming remarks, Dr Melanie Lee, Director of Alumni Affairs, recognised these outstanding final-year students from different programmes who were nominated as Class Representatives. She also emphasised their crucial role as bridges between alumni and the University. The programme included a comprehensive overview of the Class Representative Scheme, upcoming AAO activities, and an interactive quiz game to engage participants and enhance their understanding of the Scheme and the HKBU alumni community. As a recognition of their lifelong commitment, a Certificate of Appointment will be presented to each Class Representative.

The AAO has been running the HKBU Class Representative Scheme since 2012 as an initiative to strengthen the connection between alumni-to-be and their alma mater. Over the years, around 1,200 outstanding undergraduate students have been appointed as Class Representatives, all of whom pledged to help maintain close contact between the graduate cohorts and the University.
