Alumni Soccer Seven Strengthens Alumni Bonding
Organised by the Alumni Affairs Office and sponsored by the HKBU Alumni Association (HKBUAA), the Alumni Soccer Seven, one of the programmes of Homecoming 2023, was successfully held at the Joint Sports Centre on 25 November. The event received an overwhelming response from a total of 15 teams, with nearly 200 alumni to compete in the Challenge Cup, the Open Division and the Advance Division. The Alumni Soccer Seven has been a popular event among the HKBU alumni community for 16 years.
The kick-off ceremony was officiated by Ms Christine Chow, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary, alumnus Dr Jacinto Tong (Chemistry), President of HKBUAA, and Dr Melanie Lee, Director of Alumni Affairs. In appreciation of the contribution of members of the Soccer Seven Organising Committee over the years, namely alumni Jason Mok (Chemistry), Roger Xue (Mathematics; Scientific Computing) and Tim Leung (Physical Education and Recreation Management), Ms Christine Chow and alumnus Dr Tong presented to each of them a souvenir. Alumnus Dr Tong also presented prizes to the winning teams at the prize presentation ceremony, as all the trophies and medals were sponsored by HKBUAA.
