Alumna Dr Marianna Tsang Awarded Grand Cross Medal of Honour by Austrian Albert Schweitzer Society and Meets with Representatives of Cambodia Kurmul International School
Alumna Dr Marianna Tsang (Secretarial Management), President and Patron of HKBU Century Club was awarded the Grand Cross Medal of Honour by the Austrian Albert Schweitzer Society, in addition to the award of Medal of Honour last year. The Award was a recognition of her significant contribution on charitable works. She recently attended the award presentation ceremony in Austria and joined other award recipients and representatives of the Albert Schweitzer Society to visit the United Nations Headquarters in Austria and exchange views with the United Nations Development Programme.
Alumna Dr Tsang not only makes outstanding contributions to society, but also spares no effort to support her alma mater. Recently, Dr Tsang secured service-learning opportunities at Cambodia Kurmul International School (KIS) for HKBU students. The Principal Ms Kitty Wong, a group of teachers and students from KIS visited Hong Kong for a study tour in June and met with Dr Tsang, Board members of International Education Association Limited, and Dr Rosa Tang, Deputy Director of Student Affairs of HKBU at a dinner gathering on 23 June, to prepare for the upcoming service-learning trip to Cambodia.
Alumna Professor Teresa Tsien Awarded Leader of the Year 2022

Alumna Professor Teresa Tsien (Social Work), President of Senior Citizen Home Safety Association, received the award of “Leader of the Year 2022” presented by Sing Tao Daily on 21 June. The Association was awarded in the category of community/public affairs/environmental conservation. The Award was a recognition of the significant contribution made by the Association to the community, as well as the outstanding leadership demonstrated by alumna Prof Tsien. Congratulations to Prof Tsien!
Alumnus Dr Lee Hoey Appointed Hong Kong Member of the Committee for the Basic Law of the HKSAR

On 28 June, alumnus Dr Lee Hoey (Government and International Studies) was appointed Hong Kong Member of the Committee for the Basic Law of the HKSAR by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. The term is for a period of five years. Congratulations to alumnus Dr Lee!
