Alumni Affairs Office Facilitates an Interview of Alumna Amy Cheung by Phoenix Television at HKBU

Alumna Amy Cheung (Communication; Chinese Language and Literature), The Sixth HKBU Distinguished Alumni Award recipient and popular writer, returned to HKBU on 23 February to partake in an interview conducted by Phoenix Television. During the interview shooting, alumna Cheung revisited familiar places on campus and reminisced with Ms Sally Wu, Chief News Anchor of Phoenix Television, about her good old days with HKBU. Dr Melanie Lee, Director of Alumni Affairs also warmly greeted Amy and showed support for her.

Alumnus Professor Leo Poon Awarded the Pasteur Network LP200 Prize by the Institut Pasteur in France

Alumnus Professor Leo Poon (Applied Biology), The Eighth HKBU Distinguished Alumni Award recipient, was recently awarded the Pasteur Network LP200 Prize by the Institut Pasteur and he attended the award ceremony in Paris. Prof Poon currently serves at The University of Hong Kong as Professor in the School of Public Health and Division Head of the Division of Public Health Laboratory Sciences. He is also a Co-Director of the HKU-Pasteur Research Pole of the University.

To celebrate the 200th Anniversary of Louis Pasteur’s birth, a series of five prestigious scientific prizes were created by the Institut Pasteur in 2022. The prizes aimed at recognising excellent leaders in the fields of biomedical research, public health, or innovation. Among them, one was dedicated to the Pasteur Network: the Pasteur Network LP200 Prize.
