Alumnus Professor Sunny Wong Conferred Honorary University Fellowship of HKBU

Dr Melanie Lee congratulates alumnus Prof Sunny Wong in person.

Alumnus Professor Sunny Wong (Business Management), Chairman of HKBU Foundation Alumni Committee and HKBU Distinguished Alumni Award recipient, was conferred Honorary University Fellowship of HKBU at the 18th Honorary University Fellowship Conferment Ceremony on 21 September, in recognition of his outstanding contributions and support to society.  Dr Melanie Lee, Director of Alumni Affairs and her team sent their heartfelt congratulations to Prof Wong in person. Congratulations to alumnus Prof Wong!

Alumnus Professor William Leung Re-appointed Chairman of Legal Aid Services Council

Alumnus Professor William Leung

Alumnus Professor William Leung Wing-cheung (English Language & Literature) was re-appointed by the HKSAR Government as Chairman of the Legal Aid Services Council for another term of two years with effect from 1 September 2023. Congratulations to alumnus Prof Leung!

In Memory of Rev Dr George Wilson, Jr

Rev Dr George Wilson, Jr

The University is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Rev Dr George Wilson, Jr, the recipient of the degree of Doctor of Social Sciences, honoris causa from HKBU in 1995, on 20 September 2023 (US time). He was 96 years old. 

The University would like to convey our heartfelt condolences to the Wilson family at this time of bereavement. He will always be remembered for his whole-hearted support for and contribution to the development of HKBU, and as a beloved and respected member of the HKBU community.

The University is deeply saddened by the passing of alumnus Sui Chok-lee (Communication), Past President (1981-1982) of HKBU Alumni Association, on 12 September 2023, and would like to convey our heartfelt condolences to his family.
