HKBU Alumni Association of Beijing Co-organises a Forum on Innovation Development of Youth in Beijing and Hong Kong

On 29 July, the HKBU Alumni Association of Beijing (HKBUBJAA) joined hands with HKU Beijing Centre, Hong Kong and Macao Youth Beijing Club, Beijing Youth Federation, and alumni chapters of other higher education institutions of Hong Kong in Beijing to organise a forum titled “Beijing-Hong Kong youth innovation development forum” (《京港青年創新發展論壇》), with the theme on youth development in the era of artificial intelligence (AI).  The alumni associations of other Hong Kong higher education institutions stationed in Beijing include those of The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, City University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Held at the HKU Beijing Centre, the forum’s discussion focused on how to drive the innovation development of youth in Beijing and Hong Kong, and how to promote collaboration between Beijing and Hong Kong in this important area of work.

Professor William Cheung, Associate Vice-President (Undergraduate Programmes) of HKBU, gave a sharing at the forum. During the forum, Prof Cheung introduced HKBU’s research on AI, and shared his insights and experience with the audience.

HKBU School of Business Alumni Association Organises Sake Tasting Dinner

Everyone has a great time at the dinner.

The Sake Tasting Dinner, jointly organised by HKBU School of Business Alumni Association (SBAA) and the CityU MBA Alumni Association, was successfully held on 11 July, with around 30 alumni and friends attended. A sake expert was invited to introduce the various types of sake and guide the participants through the tasting. While enjoying great food, the attendees could gain knowledge about sake and appreciate the unique flavour of each type of sake. Alumni had a wonderful time and cherished the opportunity to mingle with both old and new friends during the dinner.

HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association Co-organises the 31st South China MBA Summit

On 9-11 June, HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association co-organised the 31st South China MBA Summit at the Jieyang Campus of Guangdong University of Technology, which was well attended by nearly 300 participants. As Chairman of the Council of the South China MBA Summit, alumnus Fan Jiaqi, Co-Chairman of the Alumni Association, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and expressed his gratitude to the organising parties and supporting staff of the Summit. He also chaired a roundtable forum at the Summit whereas alumna Xiao Yingdan, Executive Chairwoman of the Alumni Association, was also a speaker at an elite forum.

At the Summit, awards were presented to recognise outstanding individuals and institutions in 2022, as well as individuals and groups who made remarkable contributions to the Summit. It is encouraging that HKBU MBA alumni and students received a total of 10 awards at the Summit.

HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association Shenzhen Chapter Co-organises a Tour in Pingshan, Shenzhen for Doctoral Graduates of HKBU

On 30 June, HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association Shenzhen Chapter co-organised a one-day tour in Pingshan, Shenzhen with the Organization Department of CPC Pingshan District Committee of Shenzhen Municipality. The tour, particularly designed for doctoral graduates of HKBU, included visits to renowned enterprises, institutions and laboratory facilities in Pingshan. Participants enjoyed the tour and enhanced their understanding of the industry development and business operation of the district.

HKBU Alumni Runner Achieves Outstanding Results in The 8th Asia-Pacific Business Schools Xinjiang Adventure

The award-winning team of the HKBU Alumni Runner joyously celebrates the awards together.

A team of the HKBU Alumni Runner joined the 8th Asia-Pacific Business Schools Xinjiang Adventure on 22-23 June. With the wrestling and never-give-up spirit, the team achieved outstanding results in both team and individual competitions, including the fourth runner-up and the highest honour award won by the team.

HKBU Alumni Association of Australia Organises a Dinner Gathering

HKBU Alumni Association of Australia held a dinner gathering at Tian Yue Ju Seafood Restaurant, Eastwood, Sydney on 8 June.  Attending alumni included President Sidney Cheng (Communication) and his spouse, Vice-President Lawrence Chan (Communication) and his spouse, Professor Yip Kam-shing (Social Work) and his spouse, Peggy Chan (Secretarial Management) and her husband Andrew Chan, Eddie Chu (Communication) and his spouse Henie Chu (Communication/Secretarial Management), Richard Lam (Communication) and his spouse Mabel Lam, as well as Hui Chun-keung (Corporate Governance and Directorship) and his spouse.

The Association would like to invite alumni and retired/former academic and administrative staff of the University residing in Australia to join the Association as members and participate in its events.
