Online Inauguration Ceremony for HKBU Class Representatives 2022-2023

Class Representatives make a hand signal of “C” to declare their pledge of unity and care for the University.

To commend and welcome the newly appointed Class Representatives, the Alumni Affairs Office (AAO) held an Online Inauguration Ceremony for the Class Representatives 2022-2023 on 9 March. Around 60 Class Representatives attended the event on Zoom.

In her opening remarks, Dr Melanie Lee, Director of Alumni Affairs, extended her warm welcome to this group of outstanding final-year students for joining the big family of Class Representatives. She also highlighted the vital role of Class Representatives in serving as a bridge between their fellow classmates and the University. Colleagues of AAO also gave an introduction on the Class Representatives Scheme and announced the upcoming activities and services of AAO. To help Class Representatives gain a better understanding of HKBU and the HKBU alumni community, an interactive quiz game was held during the Inauguration. Despite the fact that the Inauguration was held online, Class Representatives enjoyed participating in it very much. A Certificate of Appointment is also presented to each Class Representative to denote the commencement of this lifelong identity.

The HKBU Class Representative Scheme was an initiative launched by AAO with the aim to strengthen the ties between the alumni-to-be and their alma mater. Since 2012, over 1,000 outstanding undergraduate students have been appointed as Class Representatives, who all pledged to help maintain close contact between the graduate cohort and the University.
