HKBU Alumni Association Hosts a Dinner in Honour of Chairman of the Council and the Court Dr the Hon Kennedy Wong Ying-ho

On 30 May, HKBU Alumni Association (HKBUAA) hosted a dinner in honour of Dr the Hon Kennedy Wong Ying-ho, who assumed the office of Chairmanship of the Council and the Court of HKBU on 1 January 2025. Over 50 alumni attended the dinner, including HKBU Honorary Doctorates, Honorary University Fellows and representatives of various alumni associations.
The dinner began with a welcome speech by alumnus Dr Jacinto Tong (Chemistry), President of HKBUAA. During the dinner, Dr Wong shared highlights of the University’s academic developments and provided updates on the Zhuhai campus (BNBU). He also shared his insights on enhancing knowledge transfer and strengthening the University’s reputation, remarking that the alumni community could contribute to promoting the University through their networks. The dinner offered a valuable opportunity for attending alumni to interact with Dr Wong and exchange views on topics related to the University.
HKBU Alumni Association Organises Alumni Sharing and Networking Event in Shenzhen

HKBU Alumni Association (HKBUAA), in collaboration with HKBU School of Business Alumni Association, HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association Shenzhen Chapter, and alumni associations from other universities, jointly organised an alumni sharing and networking event in Shenzhen on 26 April. The event attracted nearly 50 participants from diverse professional backgrounds.
The sharing session featured alumni Andy Yu, Vice President of HKBUAA, and Eva Wu, Executive Member of HKBUAA, as speakers, both of whom delivered insightful presentations. Alumnus Andy Yu analysed the development trends in the AI and smart hardware industries, sharing investment strategies and future opportunities in tech-driven manufacturing. Alumna Eva Wu drew on her extensive experience to highlight the unique advantages of holding Hong Kong residency in finance, education, and business.
Following the sharing, participants engaged in lively discussions with the speakers. While enjoying light refreshments, they connected with one another, fostering professional networks.
HKBU Alumni Association Organises Company Visit at Shenzhen Augmented Reality Technology Application Association

HKBU Alumni Association (HKBUAA) co-organised a company visit at Shenzhen Augmented Reality Technology Application Association, together with the HKBU Career Centre, HKBU School of Business Alumni Association, HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association Shenzhen Chapter and BNBU Alumni Association Shenzhen Chapter, on 11 April. The visit gathered more than 60 alumni and students.
Participants were warmly welcomed by Mr Zhong Jianhui, Executive President of Shenzhen Augmented Reality Technology Application Association, who shared the latest developments and applications in the VR, AR and MR industry. The Association also arranged for participants to try and experience AR or VR smart eyeglasses. As guest speakers, Mr He Wancheng, founder of Wellsenn Information Technology Co. Ltd.; Mr Leo Zhang, Co-founder of Henyork Digital Technology Ltd.; and Mr Robin Zhang, Vice General Manager of Anhui Liweike Technology Co. Ltd, were invited to share their entrepreneurial journeys and insights on AI trends. The company visit not only provided alumni and students with a deeper understanding of the industry but also facilitated valuable networking opportunities.
