  Alumnus Dr. Chan Kwok-ki (Physical Education)

Alumnus Dr. Chan was elected as Director of the 65th Board of Directors of Pok Oi Hospital.

 

 

 
       
  Alumnus Steve Hui Chun-tak (Biology)

Alumnus Hui was appointed as Chief Superintendent of Hong Kong Police Force Police Public Relations Branch with effect from March 2014.

 
       
  Alumnus Fredric Mao Chun-fai, BBS(English Language and Literature)

Alumnus Mao was appointed as Chair of School of Chinese Opera of Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with effect from September 2014.

  Gathering of HKBU Alumni Association of Australia

HKBU Alumni Association of Australia held a gathering in celebration of 58th anniversary of HKBU in Sydney Chinatown on 10 April 2014, which was attended by President Sidney Cheng and members Chan Wing-yu, Chu Tsang Yuet-ying, Keith Chow and their families.

In his welcome speech, President Sidney Cheng thanked members for their support and participation. Through birthday song and cake-cutting ceremony, members gave their warmest blessings to the alma mater. Sidney also updated members about the retention of southern portion of the former Lee Wai Lee campus site for "Government, Institution or Community" use.

  PERMAA Co-organises Workshop on Interview Skills for PERM Graduating Students

Physical Education and Recreation Management Alumni Association (PERMAA) co-organised a workshop on Interview Skills on 2 April 2014 with Physical Education Department for PERM graduating students. Ms. Joyce Chan of Chinese YMCA was invited as the guest speaker. The workshop attracted some 30 students who benefited from understanding more about performance indicators and job interview techniques.

After the seminar, mock interviews of 5 different types of organisation (LCSD, Education, National Sports Association, NGOs, and Disciplinary Force) were conducted.  PERMAA expressed special thanks to supporting alumni including Mr. Tim Leung Ka-chun, Ms. Soky Wong Sau-kei and Mr. Aaron Chan Chi-bun from LCSD; Dr. Li Sai-sum from IVE; Ms. Allison Wong Ka-yee from Hong Kong Sports Association for the Mentally Handicapped; Ms. Olivia Tse Wing-shan from Hong Kong Tennis Association; Ms. Joyce Chan from Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong; Mr. Edmond Yiu Yik-ming from Hong Kong Playground Association and Mr. Andrew Yeung Yan-ho from Immigration Department.

  HKBUAA of Ontario’s Dinner Party and Inauguration of the 13th Executive Committee

HKBU Alumni Association of Ontario hosted a dinner party and inauguration of the 13th Executive Committee on 23 March 2014, which was well-attended by some 85 guests including HKBU alumni and representatives from other overseas alumni associations of universities in Hong Kong, including Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Lingnan University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The University of Hong Kong. This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the Association.

President and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Albert S.C. Chan conveyed his warmest regards to the overseas alumni and congratulated the new Committee on its inauguration through a pre-recorded video.  All alumni and guests enjoyed playing games, singing and raffle drawing and they had a great evening at the party.
