Phonathon Campaign

Alumni Affairs Office launched a new round of Phonathon Campaign in October and November 2011 which aimed to enhance communication between the University and graduates through warm and friendly phone-call conversation. Fifty-five student Caring Ambassadors formed a calling team to help the University fulfill this mission by contacting their big brothers and sisters during weekday evenings and weekends. The 4,000 alumni interviewed were asked to provide updated contact and career information and invited to join various activities of the University.Through the Caring Ambassadors, the alumni could know more about the latest development of their alma mater and share their views towards the University.

The Campaign was fruitful as it gathered support from alumni who generously donated to HKBU upon invitations by the Caring Ambassadors. The Campaign not only raised valuable resources for the University but also set role models for the HKBU fellow students. The donation raised in the Campaign would be doubled after matching with the Government’s “Mainland Experience Scheme for Post-secondary Students” on a dollar-for-dollar basis which means more students can be benefited.

To the Student Caring Ambassadors, the Campaign was an enjoyable experience as they could better equip themselves with good communication skills through a series of pre-call trainings and speaking with the alumni.

Student Caring Ambassadors pledge to fulfill the campaign's mission at the pledging ceremony.
